To sharpen competitiveness, the organization targeted a cloud‑first modernization of legacy platforms to improve accuracy and speed. Core systems included iMIS, an on‑prem SQL CRM tied to on‑prem GP. Over ten customer‑facing sites and tools complicated experiences and support. Invoicing for 60k members ran on legacy infrastructure, took about two weeks, and demanded constant IT involvement. In parallel, teams needed faster resolution of trial balance, P&L, and payment allocation bottlenecks driven by high transaction volumes.
After four years with a prior MSP attempting to retire GP and iMIS, the client required a partner capable of migrating complex data into Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (D365 F&SCM) without loss. The brief prioritized secure data movement, Azure‑based scalability, and a foundation for Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, and an AI‑ready intelligence layer to unify finance, sales, service, and member experiences. The goal was a single source of truth with modern governance, telemetry, and extensibility, ready for copilots, predictive reporting, and proactive member engagement. This will drive measurable gains in cycle time, accuracy, compliance, and satisfaction across the member lifecycle.
Real-Time Integration and Data Sync
DynaTech implemented bi‑directional, real‑time sync between iMIS and Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (D365 CE) using Power Automate cloud flows via the on‑premises data gateway. Scope covered Customers, Invoices, Payments, New Member Applications, and Product Masters in both systems. A Power BI reconciliation report unified SQL, Dataverse, and MySQL for live health checks and consolidated financial views. DynaTech also migrated the member portal, built over 6–7 years, in just four months. This helped established Azure‑first operations and observability with alerting, retries, audit trails, configurable error handling, and SLA dashboards.
DynaTech’s Enterprise Digital Strategy integrated with Sales Transformation
To streamline operations and reduce costs, an out-of-the-box free integration between D365 CE and Power Pages was leveraged. This portal offers a wide range of functionalities for customers, including Dashboard access, Query Management, Invoices, Payment Receipts, Monthly Statements, Payment arrangements, Chatbot support, Membership application and annual declaration, Certificate issuance, Integration with Pay U payment provider, Event and Seminar management, Training Contract Management System, Electronic Assessment Tool, and Exam registration and result tracking.
DynaTech's Sales Transformation Solution integrated with Power Pages resulted in a significant decrease in expenses associated with building APIs for various websites.
DynaTech’s Finance Optimization and Customer Service Enhancement Solution
Invoice generation was automated within D365 CE, with invoices seamlessly transferred to D365 F&SCM for automatic posting. PDF invoices were uploaded to the portal for members to view, download, and pay. The system was further enhanced with the capability to import valid member data (200k-300k) through Excel or auto-fetch from D365, generating PDF invoices stored on Azure Blob Storage for member access. Email notifications, dynamically branded, were sent to each member via SendGrid, with staff having access to analytics for email conversations.
The client used to generate invoices for their 60k members on an on-premises system, which used to take around 2 weeks with constant engagement with IT and other team members, was reduced to just 8 hours.
Payment Processing and New Functionalities
A thorough testing phase, including legacy system evaluation and reverse engineering, preceded the development of new functionalities in D65 F&SCM and D365 CE. Using D365 CE, a payment allocation process was implemented to manage 1k payments daily, along with features for monthly statements, case management, new member applications, survey collection, credit card payment integration, payment refunds, company registration, marketing campaign management, contract management, legal & compliance modules, and exam portal integration.
Data Security and Advanced Reporting
Security enhancements include SFTP integration between F&SCM and the bank for direct vendor payments, division/account‑level budgetary control, and protected vendor bank details with approval of workflows and notifications. Power BI reporting is fed by Azure Synapse (serverless SQL) sourcing Dataverse for near real‑time analytics. We also completed a GP to D365 F&SCM migration for six legal entities within a year, maintaining complete financial fidelity and auditability, and establishing governance for data retention and access with standardized roles.
