The light Microsoft Dynamics 365 users are termed as Team Members by Microsoft. This license is specifically designed for people who need only limited access across D365 applications.
Through a Team Member license, users get to have full read access across all Dynamics 365 apps including Customer Service, Project Service, and Sales. Also, a Dynamics 365 ‘full’ user for a single role-based first party application gets to have Team Member capabilities. It means, if, let’s say a user is licensed with the Sales application, they could also make use of Team capabilities for reading Customer Service data like entitlements, subject to any of the normal security permissions for Dynamics users.
Team Member licenses are significant as they enable Dynamics to be shared with more people within a company at quite a lower rate as compared to the price of a full application.
Here’s a selection of Team Member capabilities and/or functions:
While a single Team Member license in isolation won’t be suitable for system administrators, there are a lot of people in any company who can benefit by being connected to a shared platform but who don’t possess access to Dynamics. Instead of forcing users to pay for the functions or capabilities they don’t need, Team Member licensing provides them with the basic Dynamics functionality at just an entry level cost.
Users can share communications, perform basic tasks, access relationship details, and much more to collectively raise productivity, deliver better service, and gain brand new business insights.
