Dynamics 365 Asset Management enables you to efficiently manage and carry out tasks related to managing and servicing many types of equipment in your company, for example, machines, production equipment, and vehicles. Asset Management supports solutions across numerous industries.

What Is Asset Management? (AM)

a.k.a Enterprise Asset Management, or Maintenance Management

Involves the management and maintenance of the organization’s physical assets  throughout each asset’s life cycle which may be:

  1. Fixed Assets – e.g. Buildings, Plants, Machinery, etc.
  2. Moving Assets – e.g. Vehicles, Ships, movable equipment, etc.

Used to plan, optimize, execute, and track the needed maintenance activities with the associated priorities, skills, materials, tools, and information to ensure that the assets are operational.

The group maintaining assets are typically Cost Centers – i.e. does not generate revenue but may also serve as a Profit Center by generating revenue through cross-charges and internal orders.
