Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of BI Analysts — task allocation, quality review, coaching, and performance feedback

• Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and reports, owning the full development lifecycle (requirements to deployment)

• Partner with data engineering on pipelines, warehousing, and semantic layers; ensure data accuracy and governance

• Act as the primary liaison between BI and business stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Ops); present insights to leadership

• Define BI development standards, documentation, and best practices across the team

• Identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement in BI processes and tooling

Technical Competency

• BI Tools: Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense (DAX, custom visuals, row-level security)

• SQL: Expert-level — complex joins, window functions, query optimization, stored procedures

• Data Warehousing: Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse

• Data Modeling: Dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schema), semantic layer design

• ETL/ELT: SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Talend, Informatica, or dbt

• Programming: Python or R for analysis and automation

• Cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP (core data services)

• Other: Advanced Excel (Power Query, PivotTables, macros), Git, Agile/Scrum tools (Jira) 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in CS, Statistics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (Master's a plus)
• 6+ years in BI/data analytics, including 2+ years leading or mentoring a team
• Proven track record delivering BI projects end-to-end
• Soft Skills
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills; able to translate technical work for non-technical audiences
• Strategic thinker with strong prioritization, project management, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred / Nice to Have

• BI or cloud certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist)

• Exposure to machine learning, predictive analytics, or real-time/streaming data
